Next Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling Event

The event on May 1st was unbelievable!  You responded with tons of electronics and thousands of gallons of paint, oil, and antifreeze.   If you participated, thank you for doing the responsible thing! If you were not able, but would like to, please let your elected City officials know you would like to see this opportunity more often than once a year.  If you are on our mailing list, we always tell you in advance of any recycling opportunities that are coming up.  GREAT  JOB, KINGWOOD!

Drop off CenterKingwood Drop off Center

The drop off center provided by the City of Houston is located at the Metro Park and Ride, just beyond Kingwood Library. It can be accessed from Lake Houston Parkway (the Rustic Wood Dr access is usually closed). It is open every weekend from Friday noon to Monday morning. The drop-off center accepts: aluminum and steel cans, including empty aerosol cans,  #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #7 (not #6!) plastic bottles and containers, clear and colored glass, paper, cardboard and phone books.

Most kinds of paper and cardboard can be dropped in the Abitibi green and yellow recycling bins that you will find in the parking lot of most schools and churches: newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogues, junk mail (even envelopes with windows), flattened corrugated cardboard and phone books. (Please, remove all plastic bags.)
