Kingwood Drop off Center
The drop off center provided by the City of Houston is located at the Metro Park and Ride, just beyond Kingwood Library. It can be accessed from Lake Houston Parkway (the Rustic Wood Dr access is usually closed). It is open every weekend from Friday noon to Monday morning. The drop-off center accepts: aluminum and steel cans, including empty aerosol cans, #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #7 (not #6!) plastic bottles and containers, clear and colored glass, paper, cardboard and phone books.

Paper Recycling Bins
Most kinds of paper and cardboard can be dropped in the Abitibi green and yellow recycling bins that you will find in the parking lot of most schools and churches: newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogues, junk mail (even envelopes with windows), flattened corrugated cardboard and phone books. (Please, remove all plastic bags.)
More Recycling
Paper, plastic and metal are not the only things that can be recycled. Visit our Local Recycling Guide for more information or download our brochure (pdf 222 KB)
The Green Business Challenge...
KeepKingwoodGreen & Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee are interested in finding out which Kingwood businesses are currently participating in “green” business activities and those who are interested in becoming “green”. We are looking to recognize the efforts of these businesses who are involved in making their community environment a better one.

- Kingwood and Humble Farmer Market
If you love home grown fruits and Vegetables, now is the time to visit the Farmers Market in Kingwood or Humble. Almost all summer produce is in season. Both operate weekly rain or shine: from 3 PM to 7 PM.
Humble, 800 Main Street, Every Wednesday
Kingwood, Town Center Green, Every Thursday
A variety of farmers and small vendors not only offer fruits and veggies, but lots of other home made and local products. The eggs are “to die for” according to one customer. The bread and baked goods are so good the baker usually runs out by 5:30 or 6:00 PM. He says he may have to install an other oven in his bakery.
If you are a Facebook fan, become a fan of the Humble or Kingwood Farmers Markets there for all the latest news.
